Habitat for Humanity is an organization that provides a solid foundation for healthier families, stronger communities and brighter futures in Canada and around the world.
Founded in 1985, Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, charitable organization working toward a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to call home. Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership. With the help of volunteers, Habitat homeowners and 54 local Habitats working in every province and territory, we provide a solid foundation for better, healthier lives in Canada and around the world.
With Habitat for Humanity Canada's Global Village, volunteers from our area have even helped out across the world and at Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region we're proud of our global engagement.
Habitat for Humanity International was established in 1976 and has grown to become a leading global nonprofit working across North America and in more than 70 countries worldwide. Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home.
Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
Your financial support, your voice and your time will help bring strength, stability and independence to families in need of a decent place to live.
