Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region is a charitable organization working toward a world where everyone has a decent place to live. In Waterloo Region, 1 in 4 households lacks a decent, affordable place to live making them at risk of falling into a cycle of poverty. Our model of affordable homeownership bridges a gap for lower-income, working families by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own Habitat home.
We envision a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
We foster and build equity through affordable housing, by fully integrating diversity and inclusion into everything we do both internally and within our community.
In order for all people to feel safe and encouraged to bring their whole selves to our mission, we commit to being more welcoming and empathetic to marginalized communities that have historically been left out, purposefully not acknowledged, or harmed. We believe that all individuals, no matter their race, creed, faith, religion, sexual orientation or gender expression should feel valued, heard, and respected. We are committed to doing the work to build a more equitable future.
Access to safe, decent and affordable housing is a basic human right that should be available to all
We believe in the worth and dignity of every human being. We respect the people we serve and recognize those who help us in this effort are our greatest resource
Our goals are best achieved through meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships
We seek to enrich our organization through diversity, serving and working with people of all faiths and beliefs, in the spirit of justice and compassion
Acting with integrity, we are committed to sound stewardship in all that we do
Your financial support, your voice and your time will help bring strength, stability and independence to families in need of a decent place to live.
