Individual Volunteering

"It was my first [time at the build site] and I was really quite moved at… well – everything.  We worked with Jim [a team lead] for most of the day who was talkative, humorous and passionate about his work. It rubbed off.  As we sat down for a quick lunch, the proverb “It takes a village to raise a child” was rattling around my brain.  But as I enjoyed my hot mac and cheese and salad, I truly felt like I was in the village square.  I was (and am) truly inspired to be surrounded by passionate volunteers and workers, all of who want to participate and do good for others."  -John Lepp
